Another feather in BCA’s cap!

As first ever winter End festival was organised in Accora village, another first ever Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony was organised to acknowledge the adult, youth and young volunteers who participated in the WEF, to boost their volunteering will. The ceremony kicked off with the welcome speech of Administration Director, Rehana Naseem, who welcome the Cheif Guests Jason Oberback, Owner of Giant Tiger Store and Constable Admir Minaolli of Ottawa Police. She said that BCA values and deeply appreciate the community volunteers who always plays a major role in making a difference. We cannot ignore them by saying thank you only, we need to present them with some acknowledgement so BCA opted for a ceremony to present them with a certificate by honorable members of the business and City department.

Youth Director Asad then took the lead and started the first half of the Certificate distribution ceremony with the briefing of BCA standings and its future activity plans. He call upon Jason Oberback from Giant Tiger to present the certificates to the volunteers. After the distribution of certificates to the first group, the cheif guest Jason appreciated the ceremony idea and encourages the attendees to continue volunteering the same way and make Accora Village community events a great success. He shared his volunteering experience with the audiance and said that he is impressed by BCA activities and community involvement in the organized events. He showed interest in BCA future plans and extends his cooperation in the events.

The Chief Guests were presented with token of Thanks Certificate by the Chairman and lastly the Chairman announced a $100 doantion to Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre ( Queensway Carleton Hospital ) from Bayshore Community Association.ll were asked to help themselves with the snacks & coffee and later everyone leaves with happiness and positive remarks.

A big shout out to the 2 (special) guest who came into the room just as the chairman was thanking our real special guests!

– to further elaborate, two little kids entered from the front door and walk in front of the audiance as the chairman said “we would like to thank our two special guests” (Admir and Jason) and the whole place burst into laughter. Those two innocent kids paased by and went to their mom without knowing why people were laughing.
