What A Day it Was!
March 3rd 2013, the BCA’s Winter End Festival, a unique idea of saying BYE to winter was a HUGE success and thanks to the response from around150 residents who enjoyed the games and quizes in the festival. After seeing the response and participation we intend to continue this next year and onwards.
With activities like shoot to win, colour away, basketball shoot out (carnival version), gagnam style dance contest, free skating and for the FIRST TIME EVER SNOW GRAFFITI, the kids were as busy as ever doing what they do best…having fun.
A big shout-out to the volunteers, the kids from the youth-empowerment program, the ladies from our community and eager bodies, who helped make this festival run smoothly and to the special guests who played a key part in livening up the crowd.
With the massive snowfall we were given by nature on Thursday, we almost lost hope for this event but you know what they say; where there is a will there is a way. I used this snow to our advantage and within 1.5 days shaped the rink to host the activities in it…this would not have been possible if it weren’t for Jon (a jolly member of the BCA) and other volunteers.
For the first event to be hosted by the new BCA, I’d say it was well beyond my expectations, with such a lovely community such as Accora Village I can’t help but want to do something more for it’s residents. The BCA aims to get more residents to participate, young and old, in our upcoming events.
Look forward to a nice summer.
Lastly, I’d like to thank all personnel from the BCA involved in the formation of this festival. We lived up to our slogan “Encouraging a Sense of Community”.
Great Work Guys!
